Apps can be a great way to earn some extra money in
your spare time. However, with the wide amount of money apps out there, it’s
become even more important to find free money that work.
I personally find these apps useful for bringing in
some extra cash when I’m waiting in line, going for a short walk or simply
looking for ways to pass the time.
While these apps won’t make you rich, it’s completely
possible to bring in a couple of hundred extra dollars per month with little
time and effort.
With that said, let’s get started. Here’s a list of 21

Ibotta is another app that allows you to earn money
and is one of the top rated and most used apps that pay you to shop. The only
downside is that it’s only available in the United States and Puerto Rico.
Ibotta has paid more than $200 million in cash back
altogether. There are several ways by which you can earn with iBotta, and
they’re all pretty easy. To start earning you need to download the iBotta app,
install and sign up.
Then add some cash back offers to your account by
completing fun tasks. To earn cash back, you need to send a receipt, link a
loyalty app and then make In-App Purchases. The cash can be redeemed via
PayPal, Gift cards and Venmo.
2. Shoptracker
Shoe tracker is an app that collects information on
purchases made on Amazon. It’s supported by Harris Poll – a market
research company that garner some insights into how you shop.
The app uses the information you supply to perform
research, analyses and create reports regarding consumer behavior and
demographics.
To use Shoptracker you need to be a residence of the
US, be at least 18 years old and you must have an active Amazon account that
has at least one month of purchase history.
You will need to sync the Amazon account with the shop
tracker app. The data you submitted is used for research purposes and you get
to earn $3 via email within 48 hours. As long as you continue to share your
order history you will earn $3 monthly which is about $36 a year.
3. MyPoints
MyPoints promises a $10 bonus on signup. But that’s
not all. Downloading and installing the app and using it consistently allows
users to accumulate rewards that can be redeemed for physical gifts, cash or
gift cards.
This is simply a rewards program. On the average, you
can earn about $50 monthly in gift cards. Even though that amount may not seem
like a lot but that’s about $600 a year. Imagine what you can do with that.
Some of the tasks include watching videos, completing
surveys and expressing opinions. This money making apps will not make you rich
but they can help add a few bucks to your bottom line monthly by doing things
you’re already doing.
4. Toluna
Toluna is a market research app also available on iOS
and Android. This is hugely popular because it allows users to be paid in cash
via PayPal.
Apart from offering rewards for completing surveys,
you can also earn points for creating your own surveys. You can create a survey
around popular topics that can earn you bonus points. Signing up is pretty
straightforward and easy.
To get the most out of the app, there’s a regular
webinar that tells you different ways to earn on the app. The next webinar is
displayed on your notifications on the upper-right-hand side of the screen,
which inform you of new surveys available.
Once you have accumulated enough point, you can visit
the reward center to choose how you want the point redeemed.
5. Dosh
This is another app that you can use to make some
extra buck monthly. Dosh gives you a signup bonus of $5. To earn reward all you
need to do is make purchases at participating outlets using your credit card.
One of the perks of Dosh is not having to jump through
loops to earn cash back. Any time you make purchases with your credit card, you
get cash back added to your Dosh account.
All you need to do is download the app, install and
sign up. Then link your credit card to your account and you’re good to go. You
can start accumulating points as you make purchases at participating outlets.
Points will be added to your “Dosh Wallet”
immediately. The minimum balance for payout is $25, which you can cash out via
PayPal or Direct Deposit.
6. Field Agent
Field Agent is an app that is both available on
Android and iOS. You get paid for completing small tasks. Basically, something
that you will normally do like shopping in stores, hanging around at home or
running errands.
The apps require that you express opinions about a
popular topic, answer questions, take a photo or complete some other small
tasks. Each task pays between $2 and $12, based on complexity and the time it
takes to complete them.
The tasks are available on a first-come, first served
basis.
7. Money App
This is another app that is both available on iOS and
Android. This is an app that allows you to earn points for completing tasks,
including mystery shopping, offering opinions, testing products, playing games,
and participating in free trials.
All you need to do is download the app and open a free
account that allows you to start completing tasks and accumulating rewards. The
accumulated rewards can be redeemed for cash using a PayPal account.
An advantage this app has over other money making apps
is that you can get paid within two to three working days of redeeming rewards.
Most other apps especially market research apps usually pay once a month.
Interestingly, the app has great reviews on both
iTunes and Google Play.
8. Diet-Bet
Let’s be sincere, no one actually loves working out,
but what if you were to be rewarded for working out? Diet-Bet gives you
the opportunity to do exactly this.
All you have to do is bet on yourself to lose weight
with a group of other players. You have two options; you can either choose
Kickstarter – this challenges you to lose 4 percent of your weight in four weeks,
or Transformer, which challenges you to lose 10 percent of your weight in six
months.
If you complete the task at the end of the game, the
reward is shared with all the players involved. The app claims that more than
98 percent of its participant have lost weight. Winners go home with an average
of $58.
9. Userfeel
The Userfeel app is available on iOS and Android
mobile devices. It allows users to take part in usability tests. Basically, you
earn rewards for visiting and exploring new websites, offering recorded reviews
and reviews.
You can also be asked to complete different tasks on
the websites to test its usability. There is a video on the website that
explains in detail what you need to do to earn a reward.
Each task on the average takes about 15 minutes to
complete and once completed you’re paid $10 for each test in cash via PayPal or
Payoneer.
One outstanding feature of the app is that before you
start taking tests, you will take an initial eligibility test which records
your voice and screen simultaneously as you walk through given tasks.
This is to mirror what you’ll be doing. The initial
test is unpaid and is meant to test the workability of the app and get you
rated by the UserFeel team. The higher your rating, the more tasks will be
assigned to you.
10. Step Bet
This is another app similar to DietBet which pays you
for doing exactly what you do daily; Take steps. Just like in DietBet, you
place a bet on yourself to accomplish a particular goal and once the goal is
accomplished, you will split the pot with others in the game.
To earn the reward, you don’t have to necessarily take
more steps than others, just achieve your goals and cash out.
There is a signature algorithm used by the app to
provide each participant with daily step goals, and at the same time,
automatically records the number of steps you’ve taken using a variety of
devices, including those from Apple, Garmin, and Fitbit. All you need to do is
walk, climb or even dance anything that gets you moving.
This is available on Android devices as users can
respond to surveys from Google and earn up to $1 in Play credits. The credit
you earn varies based on the type and length of the survey.
Once you download the app, you will be required to
answer some personal questions and then wait till you get your first
questionnaire. On the average you can expect to receive an average of one
survey each week, covering diverse topics.
The topics range from politics, vacations and a host
of other captivating topics. Even though the payout isn’t big, still the
process is pretty simple and easy.
12. Slidejoy
Slidejoy is an app available for download on Google
Play. Users get to earn points for their lock screens. Once you install the app
on your phone, you will be presented with different ads and news features on
your lock screen.
You can choose to swipe up for more ads, swipe left to
learn more, or swipe right for the home screen. An interesting thing about the
app is that whether or not you choose to engage with the ads – you can always
earn passive income.
Think about how many times you unlock your phone on a
daily basis. Apart from earning by simply unlocking your phone, you can also
earn by completing surveys.
There are several options for cashing out your
earnings; you can choose to receive payment via PayPal or Square Cash or donate
your earnings to charity.
The only major disadvantage is that you need to wait
for about 3 months after signing up before can cash out. Subsequently, you can
cash out monthly. Another downside is that Slidejoy has a very high cash out
fee which stands at 20 percent of your total withdrawal.
13. Fluid Market
This is an economy sharing app that is available both
on iOS and Android devices. Most of us have vehicles that sit idle for several
days during the week. Fortunately, this app allows you to rent out your
car/SUV, truck, van etc. by the hour, day or week.
Based on information available on the website, you can
make an estimated $24000 annually by renting out your truck on the fluid
market.
It’s also possible to rent out workshop tools such as
saws, drills, hedge hammers and other items such as rowboats and any other
valuable tool you can think of.
The fluid market app has a rating of 4.5 on iTunes and
3.5 on Google Play. There is insurance the covers the properties you’re renting
out and it affords you the opportunity to earn cash from items that would
normally have been lying idle around the house.
14. iPoll
This app is also available on both iOS and Android
devices and as the name suggest, it’s a marketing app that allows to you earn
points by simply sharing your opinion, completing surveys, shopping, writing

Once you download and install the app, you will be
required to provide some basic personal information such as your consumer
habits, preferences to determine the surveys that are the perfect fit for you.
What makes this especially interesting is that the
surveys are customized, so you will get notifications based on your preference
and location, revolving around topics that you find interesting and
fascinating.
Some of the missions may include product review, brand
awareness, in-store shopping experiences, ad testing etc. The surveys are easy
to complete and are not exceptionally long.
Once the mission has been completed, you will receive

brands.
You can cash out your credit via PayPal once you’ve
accumulated at least $10. Another bonus is that as a user, you’re automatically

Foap is another popular money making app that is
available on both iOS and Android. The app allows both professional and amateur
photographers to upload their photos and sell it to popular brands such as
Pepsi, Air Asia, and Bank of America etc.
The photos can also be distributed through partners
like Getty Images to sell even more photos. You can upload as many photos as
you want on the app and earn a 50 percent commission every time you sell a
photo.
Basically, Foap is a crowdsourcing platform for
marketing, advertising agencies, and brands to find and buy images from Foap’s
stockpile of more than 2.5 million photographers around the world.
Once you open an account, upload a high-quality image
with clear tags to get rated by the registered community. The higher the
rating, the higher the visibility of your photo.
For each successful sale, you earn $5, and this can
increase to about $100 per sale. Moreover, there’re tasks where agencies and
brands will make a specific request for images as well as videos.
Another added bonus on Foap is that the community of
photographers offers reviews on your photos which can help horn your
photographing skills. The app has very good ratings on iTunes and Google Play.
16. BookScouter
This app allows you to earn money by selling old and
new books. The app is available on both iOS and Android devices. Signing up on
the app is pretty simple and easy.
You can use your email address to register directly or
create an account with some listed social networks. BookScouter app allows you
to scan the barcode number to immediately compare buyback prices from top book-buying
websites.
The highest buyer is instantaneously listed at the top

There are times when you will scan the barcodes and
you will not see a price code and at other times some of the offers to buy the

BookScouter has a rating of 3.3 on iTunes and 3.9 on
Google Play. It’s an effective way to earn some cash and get rid of clutter.
17. Iconzoomer
This is another app that is present on both IOS and
Android devices. You can earn with this app by taking pictures of your consumer
habits and accumulating points.
All you need to do is download and install the app.
Sign up, create a profile and wait to receive your first task. You can be
presented with different tasks including taking pictures of your grocery items,
what you’re eating for dinner or the shirt you’re wearing.
Then you will be required to share a review of the
products and then upload the image to earn five credits. You can continue to
accumulate the credits until you want to request for payout.
Note that you can only request for payout when you
have a balance of at least 200 credits via PayPal.
18. CheckoutSmart
This is another cash back app that allows you to cut
back what you spend on shopping. This is especially true if the app offers the
same product with a discount. This allows you to buy branded food items at a
far cheaper price.
To earn on this app upload a receipt of an item on
offer; it could be as high as 100 percent of what you paid! Although the offer
changes almost every week, there are usually free branded items that you can
get hold off too, saving hundreds of pounds a year!
Although there is a minimum payout threshold of £1 and
if you wait till you’ve accrued £20 you can cash out with no transfer fee.
19. Earny
This is a free app that is available on iPhone and
Android devices that track your purchases and then automatically requests for a
refund when there is a price difference.
Earny keeps 25% of the price difference and you
receive a check for the rest.
All you need to do is link your email address with
Earny, Amazon account, and credit card detail. This will help you amplify the
process and increase the chances of making money when the price drops on an
item you purchase.
While you can choose to track the items yourself,
Earny does all the hard work for you.
20. Roamler
Roamler is like the Field Agent app that allows you to
earn a reward for reviewing shops and restaurants as a mystery shopper. Your
task can also include reviewing in-store displays or rating the service you
receive from staff.
This app gives you a list of tasks that must be
completed based on your location. You only earn reward after completing
the tasks. Each completed task pays you around £2 a time, however, you can get
several in an hour.
However, unlike Field Agent, there’s limited access to
sign up on the Roamler app. You can only be allowed to sign up if there are not
many users in your location. Another option to get in is to get invited by
another user.
You can simply search for the Roamler Fan page on
Facebook or Twitter, and ask another user to get invited.
21. Musely
Musely is also available on Android and iOS. Musely is
a marketplace and an online community app for eco-friendly beauty products. It
is also a social platform for women to share and receive healthy lifestyle tips
on various topics including skin care, parenting, and fitness.
Musely allows you to shop for organic products such as
an all-natural lipstick, toxin-free nail polish etc.
To earn from Musely, you need to become an
‘influencer’ on the app by creating your store and earning a 20 percent
commission on the sales of products recommended by you. The app payout on the
1st and the 15th of each month.
